Fatal car accident claims lives of family of 3

A recent Florida car wreck is heart-wrenching. A vehicle operated by a man with a suspended license hit another vehicle, killing the members of a young family in the fiery accident. The investigation into the tragic fatal car accident is ongoing.

The accident occurred at about 4:20 a.m. on a recent Sunday on the Florida Turnpike. A 24-year-old male with a suspended license was driving a Mercedes SUV that struck the back of a sedan. The crash caused both vehicles to roll onto their sides and catch fire. The sedan was occupied by a family made up of 23-year-old male driver, a 20-year-old female passenger and their 1-year-old daughter. Tragically, they were all killed in the accident.

County court records show that the man has received 13 tickets since 2013, including recent texting while driving and speeding tickets. He has to complete safe driving and aggressive driving courses. The man suffered minor injuries in the accident. He was not arrested in the immediate aftermath of the crash, and alcohol is not a suspected factor.

Understandably, a fatal car accident leaves friends and family craving answers and seeking justice. The surviving family of victims who have been killed in an accident due to the negligence of another driver retain the right to pursue a wrongful death claim against that driver in a civil court of law. Though it will not bring back the lost lives of loved ones, a successfully litigated lawsuit may result in compensation for monetary damages as well as some sense of justice regarding the tragedy.
